NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Class
Connecticut Pistol Permit
Congratulations on deciding to get your Pistol Permit. Connecticut pistol permit class requirements are met by our blended learning NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting class. (This class also meets New York, Florida, and many other states' requirements). Blended learning entails an online component completed prior to the class (Phase 1), face to face training and review, then range time (Phase 2). The in-person portion is completed in a single day, and the online component can be completed at your own pace. FTI offers a fun, down to earth, experience designed for regular people without the “tactical/militant” attitude you will find in so many other venues. We provide a realistic look at firearm ownership and focus on the things you need to know as a new member of the lawfully armed populous.
Due to the new blended learning format of the course, we are not scheduling dates for the Phase 2 (in person) portion of the course. Instead we ask that you contact us with information about yourslef or your group. We will discuss the options and pricing for your ideal experience.
Our instructors are often booked several weeks in advance. Those of you referred to us already know why.
This is serious subject matter and the only formal training required. Make an intelligent decision. Use an insured, legitimate business with an experienced and highly educated staff.
All students will receive range time with multiple firearms and will leave with their own set of safety gear (safety glasses and ear muff style hearing protection).
This is the easiest way to get a gun permit in Connecticut, and FTI will be with you through the entire process. We are licensed and insured, and our staff of certified instructors is dedicated to helping you become a responsible gun owner. We will assist you in obtaining your permit, purchasing your first firearm, and we can provide additional training for skill development, home defense, and personal protection.
FTI limits the instructor to student ratio so everyone will have ample access to a certified instructor. After taking our class, you will be able to apply for a Connecticut State Pistol Permit and will gain a comprehensive understanding of firearm safety, operation, and shooting fundamentals.

- Firearm Components and General Knowledge
