NRA Basic Pistol Class Connecticut Pistol Permit
Congratulations on deciding to get your CT Pistol Permit. Connecticut pistol permit class requirements are met by our open enrollment NRA Basic Pistol class held in multiple venues across the state or a private session at your home or business. (This class also meets the New York, Florida, and many other state requirements) — Register Now
This is the easiest way to get a gun permit in Connecticut, and FTI will be with you through the entire process. We are licensed and insured, and our staff of certified instructors is dedicated to helping you become a responsible gun owner. We will assist you in obtaining your permit, purchasing your first firearm, and we can provide additional training for skill development, home defense, and personal protection.
FTI limits the instructor to student ratio so everyone will have ample access to a certified instructor. After taking our class, you will be able to apply for a Connecticut State Pistol Permit and will gain a comprehensive understanding of firearm safety, operation, and shooting fundamentals.
All students will receive range time with multiple firearms and will leave with their own set of safety gear (safety glasses and ear muff style hearing protection).
Our classes fill quickly. Those of you referred to us all ready know why.
Make an educated decision. Use an insured, legitimate business with an experienced staff.

Most instructors have a brief live fire period using only a 22 caliber pistol. While this may be a good starting point to meet the minimum requirement, it does not prepare you for the vast array of firearms available. To make the most of this experience, we provide a number different firearms and calibers for everyone to try. All firearms are made available to anyone who wants to shoot them. No one is required to shoot anything that makes them uncomfortable. Here is an example list of firearms that are most often used in the class:
